This asbestos hazard awareness presentation provides information about asbestos containing building materials encountered in both building renovations & demolition.  The presentation will assist contractors in identifying asbestos containing building materials that may impact their work and or workers.   Contractor's & workers will learn about complying with WorkSafeBC regulations governing asbestos in the workplace, the hazards associated with asbestos, asbestos containing building materials encountered during home renovations and demolitions and an overview of the procedures used to clean-up and or remove the asbestos containing materials.

This introductory course provides an overview of The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and the 2015 incorporation of the Globally Harmonized System as they apply to controlled products used in the workplace. This includes a review of product classification, labelling and safety data sheet content. 
 
It provides a comprehensive explanation of Employer's responsibilities in the programs implementation and what is required to be compliant with Health Canada with regards to workplace safety.

This course provides information on compliance as well as employer and employee responsibilities. It also outlines a plan for builders to ensure compliance among trades and contractors on site.

This is the first course offered by Building It Right in an ongoing series of worksite/workplace safety and hazards with respect to how it affects the home construction industry.
