Changes to Part 9, BC Building Code 2018

The Province of British Columbia has changed the BC Building Code and announced that the effective date for the changes is December 10, 2018. This seminar focuses on the changes to Part 9 of the BC Building Code and examines the impact that these changes may have for Builders in British Columbia. It is important that all builders in the Province of BC understand these changes as they will apply to all building permit applications (other than for the City of Vancouver) on or after December 10 of 2018.

• Stairs
An overview of the Building Act and the evolution of Regulatory Reform will be presented. Recent decisions by the Building Code Appeal Board will be reviewed and discussed (including questions regarding limiting distance and cladding attachment).
